HOW TO COMMISSION AN ARTWORK

Commissioning a portrait, painting or other custom work is a very simple process. I will guide you through the entire project from the beginnings of an idea to the finished commission.

• After the initial contact I will arrange a meeting with you to discuss in detail the concept, time frame and fee structure. You may also view samples of original work and photographs of previous commissions. You should bring along as many photos as possible of the subject to this meeting as well as any other notes/images relating to image styles you prefer or specific ideas for the proposed work.

• You will then be sent a letter / email of agreement confirming all the arrangements. Once the deposit is paid, work commences on your commission.

• Almost all commissions are done without a sitting, most being accomplished from one or more photographs. This is especially helpful if the work is to be a surprise and also works well for subjects such as children, pets, houses, interiors and gardens.

• Once the work is complete, a viewing is arranged either in person or by email. Final payment is paid when the commission is approved. Delivery / Pick up arrangements are finalised, and you take possession of your commission!
